Sarat Bose Road is always busy and full of noise. We are right here at number 213, which is a spot most people in this part of the city know well enough. It is an old building and definitely nothing fancy to look at, but it works for what we do. Most of our days start quite early, often before the sun is even fully up, because there is always something that needs cleaning or prepping before the first person walks in. People walk by on their way to work, some stop in for a bit and others just give a quick wave through the door. Kolkata has its own specific rhythm and we are just one small part of that daily cycle. The walls in here have seen a lot of years go by. We do not really change things around much because people seem to like finding everything exactly where they remember it being. Sometimes the traffic outside on Sarat Bose Road gets really loud with the horns and the buses, but inside it is just the usual sounds of us working away. We have been in this spot for a while now. It is not a corporate place at all. It is just us. We deal with the rainy season leaks and the heavy summer heat like everyone else in the neighborhood. You might find a little dust on the higher shelves if we had a busy morning, but that is just how a real place looks. (251 words)
