About Saloni Sarees Kolkata – Fashion & Trends in Kolkata
It’s usually pretty busy over here on Jagmohan Mullick Lane. We’ve been at number 4/A for a while now, just selling sarees to people who stop by. Kolkata gets really humid in the summer, so we try to keep things as comfortable as possible for anyone walking in off the street. There are piles of fabric everywhere and sometimes it feels a bit messy, but that’s just how it goes when you have so many different designs coming in. Most days, it’s just us folding things back up after someone has looked through twenty different pieces and didn’t pick any. It’s part of the job, I suppose. My family started this because we knew about cloth, and we just stayed in the same spot. The neighbors know us, and we know the tea stall guy around the corner. We don’t have a big fancy showroom with bright flashing lights or anything like that. It’s just a regular shop with wooden shelves and a lot of colors. If you’re walking down the lane, you’ll probably see our sign. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we have to shout a bit to hear each other. We deal with all sorts of people, from brides looking for something heavy to grandmothers wanting a simple cotton one for the house. It’s a lot of work keeping everything organized, and some days are slower than others, but we’re here most mornings until late evening. It is just a simple life selling clothes.
