Sabyasachi Couture Garments

Our place is located at 80/2 Topsia Road South, right in the Maruti Bagan area. It is basically where we spend most of our waking hours, surrounded by fabrics and sewing threads. The building isn't very new, and you have to look for the sign sometimes because the street gets so busy with trucks and rickshaws passing through. Sabyasachi Couture Garments is mostly just us working on different pieces of clothing throughout the week. We started this small unit because we knew how to handle needles and machines well enough. It gets pretty loud with the sound of the sewing machines going all at once, so sometimes we have to shout a bit to hear each other. The Maruti Bagan neighborhood is quite active, so there is always someone knocking on the door or asking about orders. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that, just some stools and a big cutting table where we spend most of our time. Usually, there are rolls of cloth leaning against the walls and scraps of fabric on the floor that we sweep up at the end of the day. It is hard work staying here in the heat, but we are used to it by now. The tea stall nearby brings us cups a few times a day which helps us keep going when there is a lot to finish. It is just a local business doing what we know. We aren't doing anything fancy, just sewing and talking.
