Saaj

Saaj is located out on Haroa Road in the 700135 area of Kolkata. This part of town is a bit different from the crowded center of the city. It is more open but the road stays very busy with trucks and buses going back and forth all day. The dust can be a bit of a problem sometimes, so we spend a lot of our time wiping down the glass counters and the chairs. The shop is a simple setup because we did not want anything too complicated or expensive looking. It is just a place where people can come to get their hair done or whatever else they need. We have a few benches for people to sit on while they wait. Haroa Road has its own rhythm. In the mornings, it is all about people getting to work, and in the evenings, it is the rush to get back home to their families. We are usually here through all of it. The lighting inside is bright enough so we can see what we are doing properly even when it is raining outside. We do not have any big posters or flashy decorations on the walls. It is just plain and functional. People who live in the nearby colonies know us well now. They stop by on their way home from the local market. We talk about the news or the price of things. It is a straightforward business.
