This place is quite a way up. We are on the 8th floor of the Udaychal Building, specifically Flat No 30. The address is 9 Rawdon Street. Taking the lift up every day gives you a bit of a view, though mostly it’s just other buildings. Roshe- Handmade & Heartfelt Clothing is tucked away here in this flat. It doesn't feel like a factory or a big office; it feels like a place where people actually sit down and make things by hand. Because it's an 8th floor flat, it’s actually quite peaceful. You don't get as much of the street noise from Rawdon Street up here. We have sewing machines and piles of natural fabrics spread out on the tables. Sometimes the sun comes through the window at an angle that makes it hard to see, so we have to move the work around. We spend a lot of time on the details. My fingers are often sore from the needles, but that is just part of the job. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The Udaychal Building Udaychal Building is an old one, and you can tell by the way the doors creak. We like it here in Flat No 30. It’s our little space for making clothing that feels a bit more personal. It’s a long way up from the street, but it’s worth the climb every morning. The hallway outside is always quiet, which helps us focus on our stitching. The view from the window is rooftops and pigeons.
