Rajashree

Rajashree is a small shop located on G.B. Dutta Road here in Kolkata. We are pretty close to the Kanchkal landmark, so most locals know where to find us. It is not a very big place, just a room filled with items that people in the neighborhood use daily. I spend most of my day sitting on a wooden stool near the front. The humidity in Kolkata can be tough on the stock, so I have to be careful about how things are stored. I do not have a big staff or anything like that. It is just a simple business meant to help the people living nearby get their groceries without a long walk to the main market. Sometimes the shop feels a bit crowded because I try to fit as much as possible onto the shelves. You might find a bit of dust here and there, but I try my best to keep it tidy. I have been in this spot for quite a while now. I know which neighbors like which brand of tea. It is those small things that keep a local shop going. I do not do any online selling or home delivery yet, as I prefer seeing people face to face. It feels more real that way. If you are around G.B. Dutta Road, you can see the shop is open most days until late evening. Just look for the yellow lights inside.
