Raja & Mitsu Fashions

Raja & Mitsu Fashions is based in the Kamalaya Centre on Lenin Sarani. We are located in room 508. The building is quite old and there are always people moving around the hallways. We work with clothes and various fabrics mostly. A lot of our time is spent looking at patterns and checking the quality of the stitching on different garments. This business started because we had a real interest in how clothes are put together. It’s not all glamour like people often think. There’s a lot of dust from the fabrics and cardboard boxes are everywhere. Our workspace gets a bit cramped, especially when a new shipment arrives from the factory. We have a couple of sewing machines and a large wooden cutting table in the back. It’s a noisy environment most days, but the energy keeps us going. A big marketing department is not something we have. People usually hear about our shop from their friends or other local businesses. Keeping our prices fair is important so that people feel they can come back again. Sometimes we stay late into the evening to finish a batch of urgent orders. The tea stall downstairs is where we usually take our short breaks. It’s a good place to hear what’s happening in the neighborhood. High-end designer brands aren't what we are trying to be. We just make clothes that people can actually wear every day. Every single piece we handle goes through our hands for a quick check. That's just how we work.
