Rai'S Fashions Private Limited. You can find us on the ground floor, Flat-G 164, on Panchanantala Road in the Putiary area of South Parganas. It’s a residential part of the city, so it’s quite calm compared to the center. Our office is basically a converted flat. We have Reshmi Chowdhury looking after things here. Since we are on the ground floor, it’s easy to move our fashion stock in and out without having to deal with stairs. The space is filled with racks of clothes and sewing materials. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big lobby. It’s just a place where we sit and work on the fashion business. The street outside, Panchanantala Road, is usually busy with people going to market or heading home. We have a few machines tucked away in the back room and a big table for cutting and checking. It gets a bit crowded when we have a lot of new stock coming in, but we manage. We are just regular people making clothes. There isn't any corporate talk here, just discussions about thread colors and delivery dates. We like the neighborhood because it feels like home. Our neighbors sometimes pop their heads in to see what we are making. It’s a practical setup for a small business. We just focus on the daily tasks and try to stay organized in our ground floor flat.
