Rachana Apparels

This is our little spot in Belghoria. We are located in Flat 1 of the Subal Apartment building on Nilgunj Road. It’s an older building, but it stays relatively cool. Kolkata is always busy, and our street is no exception. We deal with clothes and apparel things all day. You can usually hear the sound of scissors or machines if you walk by. It’s not a big corporate showroom or anything like that. It’s just a flat that we use for the business. There are stacks of fabric everywhere and some finished pieces hanging up. Sometimes the delivery guys have a hard time finding the right entrance because of the traffic on Nilgunj Road. We’ve been here for a while and the neighbors know us. The lighting isn't the best in the back rooms, but we make it work. Most days involve checking orders and making sure the stitching is okay. We drink a lot of chai throughout the afternoon. It gets a bit crowded when a new shipment comes in, and we have to move the chairs around to make space. It’s a very local operation. We don’t have a big sign outside, just the name. People from around the area stop by sometimes to see what we are working on. It’s a steady pace, nothing too fast but never really quiet either. We just focus on getting the clothes ready and sent out to whoever needs them.
