Star Cap House

You can find us at No. 97 Rabindra Sarani. It’s a small shop in a very old and crowded part of the city. We make caps here, and we have been doing it for a long time. The street outside is always full of people, rickshaws, and vendors, so it’s never quiet. Inside, we have stacks of fabric and rows of caps in every style we know how to make. The space is a bit cramped because we use it for both making the caps and selling them. We have a few sewing machines that are specifically for the heavy material we use for the brims. It’s a family business, and we’ve lived in this area for generations. Rabindra Sarani has a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of that. We have a small transistor radio that plays the news and some old music while we work. We don't do any advertising; people usually just find us by walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor. We spend our days cutting, stitching, and ironing. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes the light in the shop isn't great, so we move closer to the door to see the fine stitches. We aren't a big factory, just a local shop trying to do things the right way. It’s what we know, and we are happy to keep doing it. It is just our little spot on Rabindra Sarani.
