Rashid Cap Mart

Rashid Cap Mart is at No. 69 Rabindra Sarani. This is an old part of the city, and the street is always packed with people and shops. Our store has been here for a long time, selling all types of caps and headwear. It is a very narrow shop, so we have to use every bit of space we have. The shelves go right up to the top, and we have to use a wooden ladder when someone wants something from the highest rack. It gets a bit dusty because of all the traffic outside, but we try to keep the hats clean. We don’t have a computer to ring things up; we just use a small cash box and write everything down in a notebook. Many of the people who come in have been our customers for years. They know exactly where to find us. We don't do any big promotions or put up flashy posters. The window is small, so we just put a few of our popular items there. Sometimes we sit on small stools near the door when the shop is quiet, just watching the world go by on Rabindra Sarani. It’s a busy life, but we like being right in the middle of the market. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where every single item is stored. It’s a simple way of living and working that hasn't changed much over the years.
