Prince Shoe Company

We have been here at No. 41-a Rabindra Sarani for quite some time now. People usually find us when they are walking through the market looking for something sturdy to wear on their feet. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular shop where we keep stacks of boxes all over the shelves. My father used to say that a good pair of shoes is the most important thing a person can own because you spend all day standing on them. Prince Shoe Company isn't trying to change the world or anything like that. We just sell shoes. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit in the back, and the floor is a little worn down from all the walking, but it works for us. If you come by, you’ll probably see me or one of the guys moving boxes around. We try to keep things organized but on busy days it gets a bit messy. The street outside is always noisy with traffic and people shouting, so it’s actually a bit quieter inside the shop most of the time. We don't have a big website or a social media person. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for customers to come in. Most of the folks who shop here live nearby or work in the local offices. They know what they want and we try to find the right size for them without making a big fuss about it. It is just a regular local business.
