At 40/1-B/1 on Dharmatala Road in Kasba, we’ve got our setup for Pegasus Garments Npg Pvt Ltd. It’s where all the sewing and cutting happens. We’ve been in the garment business for a while and this place in Kasba is where we do everything. You’ll usually hear the sound of the machines running as soon as you walk in. It’s not a quiet place by any means. We work with different fabrics and designs, trying to get the orders finished on time for whoever needs them. Sometimes the fabric isn't exactly what we expected or a machine breaks down, which slows us down. We just deal with it and keep going. The staff knows their way around a sewing table. Dharmatala Road can get pretty hectic, especially when we’re trying to load up finished clothes to send them out. We don’t have a lot of fancy office furniture or anything like that because we need the space for the work itself. It’s a practical environment. We’ve seen a lot of different styles come through here over the seasons. Every batch of clothes has its own set of problems to solve. We just focus on making sure the stitching is decent and the sizes are right. It’s hard work and the days are often long, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the garment trade here in Kasba. It is what it is, and we stay busy.
