Our place is down at 26 Rameshwar Shaw Road in Kolkata. If you know the West Bengal-700014 area, you know it’s got that old-school feel with a lot of movement. The building isn't anything special to look at, but inside, we’re usually swamped with paperwork and samples. We deal with a lot of international stuff, so there are always boxes being taped up or opened. It gets quite loud with the fans and the street noise mixing together. We don’t have a fancy lobby or uniforms. Most of us just wear what’s comfortable because the humidity in Kolkata can be pretty tough. There’s always someone running around looking for a misplaced invoice or checking a shipping label. We spend a lot of time on the computer, but a lot of the work is still just physical—lifting things and making sure the crates are packed tight. We take our breaks when we can, usually just a quick tea from the stall nearby. It’s a busy environment where things are always changing. One day we’re focused on one thing, and the next, everything changes. We don’t really use big words or try to sound like a giant corporation. We’re just a group of people working out of a dusty office on Rameshwar Shaw Road, trying to get the cargo out on time. It’s stressful sometimes, but it’s the life we’ve built here over the years.
