Mukherjjee Garments is located over at 18 Rabindra Sarani, specifically by Gate 4. If you know Rabindra Sarani, you know it’s one of the busiest parts of the city. There’s always something happening right outside our doors. We run a pretty tight operation here. It’s a small space, so we have to be organized to get anything done. We mainly handle garments, doing a bit of everything from checking the fabric to making sure the final product is ready for sale. It’s just us working away, day in and day out. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles. We have our sewing stations and our storage area, and that’s about it. Being near Gate 4 makes it easy for people to find us if they know what they’re looking for. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a big office. We just care about the work itself. The noise from the street can be a lot sometimes, but you get used to it after a while. It’s just part of being in this area. We’ve been around for a bit and we’ve seen shops come and go, but we just keep doing our thing. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s ours. We just focus on the clothes and the day-to-day tasks that need finishing. Every morning we open up and get to it, nothing more, nothing less.
