Kabi Nabin Sen Lane is a bit hidden. You have to look for it. We are at number 15. Kolkata is always busy, even in the lanes. Gomesh Lane has its own feel. We've been at Metro Fashion for a good while now. The walls have some dampness from the rains. It’s an old city thing. We spend most of our time folding things or talking to the people who walk in. It’s quiet in the mornings. Then the afternoon rush starts. We have a small table where we keep the ledger. No computers or anything. Just pen and paper. My nephew helps out sometimes. We get a lot of tea from the stall at the corner. The shop is small but we fit everything in. Sometimes it feels tight. We don't have a big window display. People just know we are here. They come by when they need something. We don't do much advertising. Word of mouth is enough for us. The fans hum all day. It’s a bit dusty because of the construction nearby. We just clean it up every morning. It’s a routine. Life moves slow and fast at the same time here. We like the lane. It’s home for the business. We don't plan on moving anywhere. Metro Fashion belongs right here in this spot. We see the same faces every day and that's fine by us.
