Meera Apparels Private Limited is set up over at No. 8 Dr. Sarat Banerjee Road. If you know the Lake Road Bus Stop, we are right there, which makes it easy for the staff to get in and out. The building isn't anything special to look at, but inside we stay pretty busy with the sewing and packing. There’s always a pile of fabric sitting somewhere waiting to be turned into something wearable. We have a few different rooms where the machines are humming away most of the day. It’s a bit noisy when everything is running at once. You can hear the buses pulling up outside and the conductors shouting, which is just part of the background here. We handle a lot of different clothes, and the place is usually filled with the sound of scissors and steam irons. Our team consists of local people who have been doing this kind of work for years. We don’t have a big corporate office or fancy reception area. It’s more of a practical space where the focus is just on getting the orders finished. Sometimes we run behind when the power goes out or when a shipment of buttons doesn’t show up on time. That’s just life in a garment business. We’ve been at this Lake Road spot for a bit, and we’ve gotten to know the neighborhood well. It’s a good place to be, even if it gets crowded most of the time.
