We’re located over on Durga Charan Mukherjee Street, right in the heart of old Kolkata. The building has that classic look you only see in this part of the city. It’s been here a long time, and so have we. Inside, it’s a mix of old wooden desks and newer machinery. We’re an industrial company, so there’s usually some noise and the smell of materials being processed. It’s not a quiet library. The street outside is always crowded with handcarts and people rushing to the river nearby. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the decades, but the work stays pretty much the same. We make things. It’s physical, messy, and sometimes exhausting, but it’s what we do. Our workers have been with us for years, some of them for their whole lives. We don't have a polished corporate handbook. We just know how things are supposed to run. Sometimes the rain floods the street a bit, and we have to move stuff around, but that’s just life in Kolkata. We don't use big words to describe ourselves. We’re just a factory in a busy city. People know us by the name on the gate. We keep the machines running and the orders going out. It’s a lot of manual work and checking and re-checking. It’s a simple life, focused on production and keeping things moving. Maxwell Industries Ltd. is just a part of the city's history.
