Mariam Fashion

We are based at No. 53- A Shamsul Huda Road. It’s a busy stretch of road and we are right there in the middle of it all. Mariam Fashion has been operating from this building for a good while. The rooms are a bit small and we have to stack our supplies high up against the walls to make enough floor space for everyone to move around. It's a lot of repetitive work, cutting and sewing and checking. We aren't a giant factory or anything like that. It’s just a small team of us. We talk a lot while we work, mostly about our families or what’s happening in the news. Shamsul Huda Road is always full of cars and people, so there’s a constant hum of engines outside our window. We try to keep things simple here. No one wears a suit or acts like a big boss. We all just pitch in and do what’s needed. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing them ourselves. It’s just how it goes. We don't have a website or a marketing person. Most people find us because they know the address or they've heard about us from someone else. It is a very direct way of doing business. We just make the clothes and hope people like what we’ve done with our hands. We try our best every day.
