I’ve been running this place at 62/69 Haripada Dutta Lane for a while now. Tollygunge is always busy, especially around Prince Anwar Shah Road. It’s just me and a few others here most days. We get a lot of people walking by because the Dhaka Kali Bari is right there. It’s a nice enough spot. The lane is narrow, so it gets a bit crowded when cars try to pass each other. We spend most of the morning just getting things ready and cleaning up. Kolkata heat can be something else, so we try to keep it cool inside. People stop in, sometimes just to ask for directions or talk about the traffic. It’s not a big fancy office or anything. Just a regular room with some chairs and our stuff. We don't have a big sign, but people find us eventually. Life here is mostly about keeping the door open and seeing who comes in. Sometimes it’s quiet, other times everyone comes at once. I usually have tea in the afternoon while looking out at the street. Haripada Dutta Lane has changed over the years, more buildings now. But we’re still here doing what we do. It’s practical, honest work. Nothing more to it than that really. If you're near the temple, you’ll probably see the entrance. We just keep things moving one day at a time without too much fuss.
