Madura Garments

Our workshop is over at 13/H/23 Braun Field Row. It is in the 700027 zip code area of Kolkata. We have got a decent setup here for our garment business. It is not a huge place, but we make it work for us. We have all the sewing machines lined up and enough space in the back to store the raw materials we buy. The lighting isn't always the best so we use extra lamps over the workstations. You have to be very careful with the fine stitching or you make mistakes. We don't have a big team, just a handful of us who know what we are doing. We have been working with clothes for a long time now. It is not just a job; it is what we have always done to get by. The neighborhood is a mix of houses and small businesses like ours. We fit right in with the rest of the street. Sometimes the road gets flooded when it rains heavily in the monsoon, and we have to move everything off the floor quickly. That is just part of life in this part of Kolkata. We don't spend our time writing fancy mission statements for the wall. We spend it making sure the seams are straight and the buttons are on tight. We handle everything from basic tailoring to more complex assembly. It is a practical environment and we just focus on the task.
