Maa Gitanjali Creation

Maa Gitanjali Creation is over at No. 22 Dr. Priyanath Guha Road in Belgharia. This is a quiet residential area, so we know almost everyone who comes in to see us. We work a lot with different fabrics and there are always little bits of thread all over the floor, no matter how much we sweep up. We have a few plastic chairs for people to sit on while they are waiting or looking at different materials. The ceiling is quite high, which helps keep the place a bit cooler during the summer months, though we still rely on two old fans that shake a little when they are on high speed. We handle a lot of orders for people in the neighborhood who need something for a local party or a religious function. My sister helps me keep track of the money in the evenings when she gets home from her other job. We get our tea from the small stall at the end of the road, and they know exactly how much sugar we like. It is a very different feeling here than in the middle of the city. Things move a bit slower, and we like it that way. We don't have a big sign, just the name of the shop painted on the wall. Most of our work comes from people telling their neighbors about us.
