Luk Ur Best

Our shop, Luk Ur Best, is located at 16/1 on BT Road. It’s a long road that runs through Kolkata and we are in one of the older sections. The name was something I came up with because it sounded catchy at the time, though now it feels a bit dated. Inside, the shop is fairly simple. We have the usual mirrors and the adjustable chairs that most saloons use. It’s a bit of a small space, so things can get a little tight when there are three or four people waiting. I’ve been a barber for a long time, and I finally opened my own place here a while back. We see all kinds of people, from students to older men who have lived in Kolkata their whole lives. The traffic on BT Road is always loud, but you get used to it after a while. We don't do anything too fancy, just the standard cuts and shaves. I like to keep the tools sharp and the towels clean. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. We open up in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. There isn’t much of a story to the place, it’s just where we work and earn a living. We try to be friendly to whoever walks through the door. If you’re around this part of BT Road, you’ll probably see our sign and can just stop in.
