Little Saree House

Our shop, Little Saree House, is right by the clock tower at Stick 1 in the Flower Range area. Because of the flower market nearby, the whole air around here smells like jasmine and marigolds most of the morning. It is a very small space, which is why we picked the name we have. We are surrounded by all the noise and color of the market. People often stop by after they have finished buying their flowers for the day. We keep a lot of cotton sarees because they are easy to wear in this heat. There isn't much room to move around, so we have to keep everything tucked away in boxes under the main counter. We have a couple of wooden stools for people to sit on while they look at the fabrics. The clock tower chimes every hour, and you can hear it clearly if the traffic on the road dies down for a second. My father started this business a long time ago, and not much has changed since then. We still use the same old ledger books to write down what we sell. The walls could probably use some new paint, but we never seem to find the time to empty the shelves. We just keep the door open to let the breeze in and talk to the neighbors. It is a busy little spot, and we are quite used to the constant hustle outside.
