Laxmi Garments

Laxmi Garments is located on the first floor at 1/C Burman Street. Being upstairs means we don't get as much foot traffic as the shops on the ground floor, but we have our regular customers who don't mind the climb. The stairs are a bit narrow and steep, so you have to watch your step. Once you get up here, it’s actually quite nice and a bit quieter than the street level. We have windows that look out over Burman Street, and we usually keep them open for the breeze. We have piles of clothes on tables and more hanging on the walls. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are in here at once. We do our own bookkeeping on a small wooden table near the window. We’ve been here for a while and haven't felt the need to move. The rent is fair and we like the neighborhood. We don't do any big promotions or anything like that. Most of our business is just people who have been coming to us for years or someone who saw our sign from the street. We try to keep things simple. If a shirt has a loose thread, we trim it before we sell it. It’s just how we do things. We aren't a big corporation, just a small shop on the first floor. Sometimes we stay open a little later if the neighbor is still working, just to see if anyone else stops by.
