We've been at the corner of Motilal Nehru Road and Monoharpukur Road for a while now. It's a busy spot near Sarat Bose Road. People come in for the food we make every day. Our kitchen stays pretty active. It gets loud outside with the traffic at the crossing, but inside is different. We just focus on getting the plates out. Some days are faster than others. There isn't much to say about why we do it, it's just work. Most of the staff here has been together for years. We know the regulars who walk over from the nearby houses. The building is called Gajendra, number 87. It’s easy to find if you’re around the 700029 area. We don't spend money on fancy signs. The tables are simple. We make sure the rice is hot and the gravy is right. If you’re walking past the crossing, you’ll probably smell what’s cooking. Sometimes we run out of things early if the lunch rush is heavy. That’s just how it goes here. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It's just a place to eat and then get back to your day. We keep things clean enough and keep the lights on. It isn't a huge place, just a small dining area and the kitchen behind it. We don't have fancy uniforms either. Just us and the food we've been making for the neighborhood. We usually have the radio on in the background, but you can barely hear it over the stove.
