Ikshit Garments is located on the second floor at 968/9 Mahendra Banerjee Road. This is right in the heart of Parnasree Pally. It’s a busy street, but once you get up to the second floor, it’s a bit quieter. We spend most of our hours here working on different types of garments. It’s not a huge operation, but we stay busy. We’ve got rows of machines and a cutting table that’s seen better days. We don’t really care about the furniture being fancy as long as the work gets done. Most of us have been in the garment trade for years. We know how to spot a bad stitch from across the room. We don’t do much advertising. People usually find out about us through word of mouth or just by seeing our address. Mahendra Banerjee Road can be quite a climb when the elevator is acting up. We handle everything from raw cloth to the final folded product. It’s honest work. Sometimes we stay late when a big order needs to go out. We don’t have a corporate handbook or anything. We just talk to each other and get the job finished. It’s a local business through and through. We like being part of the Parnasree community. It’s where we belong and where we work best. There is always a lot to do but we enjoy the rhythm.
