Hi-Fashion Tailor

Our shop is over at Q-278 on Nisar Mistri Lane, which is just off Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Road. It’s one of those narrow spots where you really have to know where you’re going to find us. Hi-Fashion Tailor has been sitting in this lane for a long time, and we’ve seen generations of families come through the door. The sound of the sewing machines is basically the background music of our lives. We’ve got piles of fabric everywhere—linings, silks, cottons—and sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in with all the orders we have to finish. My father used to say that a tailor’s eyes are his best tool, and we try to keep that in mind even when we’re tired. The lighting isn't always the best, so we use those old desk lamps to see the fine stitching. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we just open the front door and let the street noise in. We don’t have any fancy brochures. People just bring us their cloth and tell us what they want, and we get to work with the chalk and the shears. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing, which can be tough on the back, but seeing a finished suit or a dress hanging up makes it worth the effort. It’s just a small tailor shop in a busy lane, doing things the old way with a lot of thread and patience.
