Gulnaaz Baig

My name is Gulnaaz Baig, and I run my business out of 14 Chandni Chawk Street in Kolkata. The location is quite easy to find because it’s near Ganesh Avenue and right by the E Mall and the Shabir Hotel. Being in the 700072 area means there is always something going on outside. The street is famous for all the electronics and shops, so it’s never quiet. I have a small space here where I do my work. It’s just a room with a desk, some chairs, and a lot of books and papers piled up. I’ve been here for several years now, and I’ve gotten to know all the shopkeepers nearby. We usually share a laugh or a quick talk when I'm heading out to get some lunch. The office isn't very large, but it serves my needs just fine. I don't really care for having a lot of fancy decorations. I just have what I need to get the job done. Sometimes the stairs leading up to my place can be a bit dark if the bulb is out, but most people know the way. It’s a very lived-in kind of place. You can hear the sounds of the market and the cars honking all day long, but it feels like the heartbeat of the city to me. I just sit here and do my daily tasks, keeping things simple and honest.
