Gayatri Garments

We are at 3/4 Narayan Prasad Babu Lane. It’s a narrow spot but people find us. My father started Gayatri Garments years back. We mostly deal with everyday clothes, stuff people wear to work or around the house. The lane gets really crowded in the afternoons with the rickshaws and people walking to the market. We open around ten and stay till the sun goes down. Most of our regulars live nearby. They come in to see what new fabric came in or just to chat for a bit. It’s not a fancy place with big lights. We have some shelves and a couple of stools for people to sit. Sometimes it’s quiet, other days we can’t even find a place to stand. We just try to keep things organized. We handle different kinds of garments, some cotton, some synthetic. If someone needs a specific size, we look through the back. It takes a minute because things get stacked up. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. Buildings going up and shops changing names, but we stay right here at 3/4. It’s a lot of work keeping up with what people want. Sometimes we get the colors wrong or the stock is late. But we just keep going. It’s a local business, nothing more than that really. We just want to make sure the clothes are okay and the price is fair for everyone.
