Our office is on the third floor of the Trimurti building on Park Street. If you know Kolkata, you know Park Street is never quiet. We are at number 97. It is an old building but it serves our purpose well. We have been working from this floor for a long time now. The stairs can be a bit much if you are in a hurry but the office itself is okay. We do export work mostly. There are desks for the staff and a small area where we keep all the fabric samples and records. It feels a bit cramped when we have a lot of new stock coming in. The street outside is full of restaurants and people walking. Sometimes the noise from the traffic comes right through the windows. We don't have a big sign or a fancy lobby. People who need to find us usually know the way up. We spend our days checking on orders and talking to the people at the mills. It's a lot of paperwork. Sometimes the tea man comes by and that’s the highlight of the afternoon. We are just a small team trying to get things shipped out. It’s not a glamorous job but it keeps us busy. The third floor has its charm I suppose. We’ve got used to the hum of the city life right outside our door.
