Galaxy Garments

Galaxy Garments is tucked away on the second floor of 178 Jamumlala Bajaj Street. You have to walk up the stairs, which can be a bit narrow if you're carrying a lot of stuff. Being on the second floor means we are away from the direct noise of the street, but you can still hear the vendors below. It’s an old building, so it has that specific smell of old bricks and fabric. We have a few rooms where we keep the cloth and the machines. It’s not a huge space, but we make it work. Some of the windows don't open all the way, so it gets a bit stuffy in the summer. We’ve been here for quite some time now. Most of our day is spent sorting through materials. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably find one of us elbow-deep in a pile of shirts or trousers. The lighting isn't the best, so we have some extra lamps around the worktables. It's a quiet kind of work most of the time. Jamumlala Bajaj Street is a busy place for clothes, so there are always people moving around nearby. We just stay in our corner on the second floor and do our bit. It's a steady routine. We show up, we do the sewing or the cutting, and then we head home. It’s just how things are here. We don't need much more than that.
