Fusion Beats

You can find us on the second floor of the Acropolis Mall on Rajdanga Main Road. Working inside a mall in the Kasba area is a bit different from having a shop on the street. We have to follow the mall’s schedule, so we are often here until late at night when the shoppers finally head home. Our space is filled with the latest clothes we have in stock. A lot of our time is spent helping people find the right size or showing them where the changing rooms are. We spend hours folding shirts and making sure the hangers are all facing the same way. The mall gets incredibly busy on the weekends, especially because it's near the New Market area. We see a lot of different people coming through the doors. It is a very lively place to spend the day. We have a small storage room in the back where we keep the extra boxes and take our lunch breaks. There are only a few of us working here, so we know every item on the racks. We don't really talk about fashion in a complicated way. We just see what people like to wear and try to have enough of it ready for them. The air conditioning is a big help during the hot Kolkata summers. We just try to be useful when someone is looking for something new to wear. It’s a simple retail life.
