Freeset Bags And Apparel is based right here at 172 Ramesh Dutta St. This part of the city is always moving and the street outside stays full of people and loud noises. It is actually quite hard to find a parking spot sometimes because the road is so narrow and cramped. Inside our space, we have everything set up for making bags and all kinds of different apparel. The building itself is pretty old, with those high ceilings and brick walls that could definitely use a new coat of paint if we ever found the time. We stay busy with the old sewing machines going from the early morning until the sun goes down in the evening. Most of the staff lives in the neighborhood, so we just walk or take a rickshaw to get to work. There is a small tea stall just a few doors down from 172 Ramesh Dutta St where we usually grab a quick cup in the afternoon. It gets very hot in the summer months, but we keep the windows wide open to let the breeze in from the street. We handle a massive amount of fabric every single day. Often the floor is completely covered in colorful scraps and loose threads by the time we finish a long shift. We just sweep it all up and start the whole thing over the next morning. There isn't any fancy corporate office or a big reception desk in our shop. It is just a place where real people work hard.
