Eastern Silk Industries Ltd.

Our office is located at 19 R. N. Mukherjee Road. It’s an old building with a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit much sometimes. Eastern Silk Industries has been operating out of this space for many years. We spend our days surrounded by samples of different fabrics and piles of paperwork. The silk business isn't as glamorous as people think when they see the finished product. There’s a lot of checking for defects, talking to weavers, and managing shipments that always seem to be running late. The fans in the office hum all day, and there is usually a stack of chai cups on someone's desk. We aren't a high-tech startup; we are more of a traditional setup. We know our regulars by name, and we still use physical ledgers for a lot of things because it just feels more reliable. The street outside is always noisy with cars and people, but once you’re inside, it’s just us focused on the silk. We don't spend money on fancy brochures or big ads. We just try to make sure the silk we send out is decent and that our workers are treated fair. It’s a quiet kind of life here on Mukherjee Road, just doing what we know how to do without making a big scene about it.
