D. P. Fashions

D. P. Fashions is located up on the second floor at 12 Amratolla Street in Kolkata. The building is quite old, like many others in this part of the city. The stairs are worn down and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s our home. We’ve got racks and racks of clothes squeezed into the rooms. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes when we’re trying to find a specific item. The street outside is always full of people, carts, and noise. You can hear the sounds of the city coming through the open windows all day. We do a lot of the sorting and checking ourselves. There’s no big fancy warehouse, just these rooms on the second floor. We’ve got a couple of old fans that creak a bit, but they do the job. Some days it’s quiet, and other days it’s a total mess of fabric and thread. We just take it as it comes. We’ve known the other shop owners on this street for years. Sometimes we go down for a quick snack or a chai when things get too busy. We don’t have a website or a marketing person. It’s just us here, working with the clothes and making sure things are ready for the customers. It’s the way we’ve always done it, and we like it that way.
