Gobindram Saraf & Sons

We are located at No. 131 Cotton Street. If you know the city, you know that Cotton Street is one of the oldest and busiest market areas you can find. Our building has been here for a very long time. It has that old-style feel with high ceilings and heavy wooden doors. Gobindram Saraf & Sons has been operating out of this address for generations. The air inside always smells a bit like old paper and cotton. We do not have air conditioning, just some old ceiling fans that clatter as they spin. The street outside is so narrow that it is hard for cars to pass, so it is mostly people walking and handcarts. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, filled with all sorts of things we have collected over the years. We spend our days sitting at old desks, writing in ledgers and talking to people who have been coming to us for decades. It is a very traditional way of doing things. We do not use much technology besides a basic phone. The light comes in through the tall windows in the morning, but by the afternoon it gets a bit dark inside the shop. We like the history of this place. It is not modern or fast-paced, but it is a steady way of life. We just keep the doors open and wait for the business to walk in. That is all.
