C N Buy 6 Ten

Our shop, C N Buy 6 Ten, is at 254 Dumdum Park, over in the Lake Town area of Kolkata. The name is a bit unusual, I know, but it’s what we’ve used for a while now. The building is old and the stairs nearby are a bit narrow, but we’ve made a good home for the business here. Kolkata can get incredibly hot and humid, so I usually have a small fan blowing right on me behind the counter. I spend a lot of time checking the inventory and making lists of what we need to get from the wholesalers. It’s a neighborhood where everyone knows everyone else’s business, so there’s always some gossip to hear while I’m ringing up the groceries. We have everything from stationery to kitchen supplies squeezed into the shelves. Sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in because there's so much stuff, but somehow every item has its own little corner. I don't use any fancy computer systems, just a notebook and a pen for most things. The people living in Lake Town are good neighbors and they’ve been supporting us for years. I open the shutters early in the morning before the sun gets too high and I don't close them until the street lights have been on for a long time. It’s just a regular local shop where we try to keep things moving as best as we can.
