Our setup is right in the Charial New Market area of Budge Budge. If you’ve ever been down M. G. Road, you know it’s a total maze of shops and people. We are at number 444, tucked away in the middle of all that action. It gets really loud during the day with the market calls and the bikes zooming past. The building itself is older, and we share the space with a few other local businesses. We do a lot of garment work here, so there is always thread and scraps of cloth on the floor by the end of the shift. The lighting isn't the best, but we make it work. Most of the people working here have been with us for a long time. We know the tea seller downstairs by name, and he usually brings us a tray twice a day. It’s a very local atmosphere. We don't have a fancy reception or anything like that. You just walk in and you see the work happening right there. Sometimes the rains make the street outside a bit messy, but that’s just part of living in South 24 Parganas. We just keep our heads down and get the stitching done. It’s a simple way of working, without any big fuss or complicated systems. Just regular people making clothes in a busy market environment. We like being part of the local community here.
