Maruti'S Creations

If you walk down Ramani Chatterjee Road in the Gariahat area, you will see us at Shop No. 2 2A. We are right beside the Central Bank of India. Maruti'S Creations is a small shop, but we definitely pack a lot of stuff into it. Gariahat is always buzzing with people, especially during the festival months, so our shop gets a lot of people just wandering in to see what we have. We mostly deal with clothes and various creative fabric designs. There is usually a tailor or two working in the small space in the back, and the sound of the sewing machine is a constant part of our day. We have stacks of fabric and finished pieces almost everywhere you look. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room for all the inventory, but we manage to keep it organized in our own way. Customers come in looking for something specific for a wedding or a party, and we spend a lot of time showing them different colors and patterns. We don't have a polished sales pitch at all. We just show what we have on the racks and tell them how it was made. The shop gets a bit warm in the afternoons, so we keep the front door open to catch whatever breeze comes down the street. It is a family-run atmosphere here. We know the other shopkeepers on the block, and we often borrow small change from each other.
