Naheed Stitching

Our small shop is located at No. 45 Amrit Lal Dawn Road in Alambazar. It’s a place where you’ll always hear the sound of sewing machines running in the background. We have been here for a while, and the walls are covered with different colored threads and scraps of fabric that we haven't found a use for yet. It’s not a very big space, so we have to be careful about where we put things. Usually, there are piles of cloth waiting to be cut on the main wooden table, and a couple of us are always hunched over the machines. We get a lot of people from the neighborhood walking in with bags of clothes that need fixing or something new they want made. The light comes in through the front door, which we usually leave open to get a bit of a breeze. It can get quite dusty because of the road outside, but we try to keep the work area as clean as possible. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name on the door and the work we do inside. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when we have a lot of orders finishing at the same time, but we manage to get through it. We take our tea breaks together in the afternoon while the machines finally sit quiet for a few minutes. It's a simple way of living and working for us here.
