Akriti Kolkata

It’s been a while since we set up here at Ad-119 Salt Lake. The building is just a regular spot in this part of Kolkata, and most days start pretty early for us. We spend a lot of time dealing with the stock and getting things ready for whoever stops by. Salt Lake is usually a bit quieter than the main city, which helps when we’re trying to focus on the garment work. Sometimes the humidity gets to be a bit much, but we have the fans going and we just get on with it. It’s not a fancy setup or anything. There are boxes stacked in the corners and the desks are usually covered in papers and fabric samples. People from the neighborhood know where we are, right near the local blocks. We don't really do big meetings; we just talk over tea and figure out what needs to be shipped. It’s just Akriti Kolkata doing its thing day in and day out. The commute for some of us is a bit long, but being in this area is convenient for the deliveries. We’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the street outside. It isn't always perfectly organized, but the work gets done and that is what matters. We just keep our heads down and handle the orders as they come in. There’s always someone coming or going through the front door at Ad-119.
