Aashirvad Sarees is tucked away on the 4th floor at 111 Park Street, over in the Bidhan Colony area of Santoshpur. It’s a bit of a trek up to the 4th floor since the lift is sometimes slow, but we have a lot of space once you get there. As the name says, we mostly do sarees. We’ve got stacks and stacks of them in every corner. Silks, cottons, and everything in between are piled up. The place is often a bit cluttered because we are always sorting through new arrivals from the weavers. Santoshpur is a nice neighborhood, and being in Bidhan Colony means we get a lot of local regulars who stop by. We aren't some massive corporation with a huge budget for fancy things. We are just a group of people who know our sarees well and enjoy looking at the different designs. We spend a lot of time looking at patterns and making sure the colors are right for the season. Sometimes a shipment gets delayed, and we have to explain that to customers, which is never fun. But mostly, things run okay around here. We don't have a fancy showroom with models or big posters. It’s just racks and racks of clothes for people to browse. People come in, sit down on the stools, and we start showing them what we’ve got. It’s a very simple way of doing things. We’ve been at this address for a long time now.
