M. R. Hosiery

Our units are located in the Linen Garment and Apparel Park over on Jessore Road East in Barasat. Specifically, we are in Block No. 3, occupying Units 303 and 304 at the address 64/1/1 530. It’s a large industrial area, so there are always people moving around and the sound of machinery in the background. At M. R. Hosiery, we focus on making garments, mostly working with various types of fabrics. The space is largely taken up by cutting tables and sewing machines. It's not a fancy place to look at, but it's where the actual work happens. The lighting is bright so we can see what we’re doing, and the floors are usually covered in small scraps of cloth by the end of the shift. Being in an apparel park means we’re surrounded by others in the same trade, which makes things feel like a community of sorts. We don't do much in the way of marketing. Most of our time is spent managing the production line and making sure the stitching is right. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we take a certain pride in seeing a finished pile of clothes ready to be shipped out. We just stick to our units in Block 3 and keep the machines running. It’s a practical, no-nonsense setup for people who just want to get the job done.
