Ramaguru Up School

Ramaguru Up School is found on Katampalli Road in the Chirakkal part of Kannur. It is an upper primary school that has been around for quite a while now. The building is a bit old, with those traditional tiled roofs you see a lot in this part of Kerala. We have several classrooms that open out toward a central area where the children spend their free time. It’s a very local atmosphere here, and most of the kids walk to school from the nearby houses. The sound of the rain hitting the roof can be very loud during the monsoon season, which sometimes makes it hard to hear the teacher. We don't have any air conditioning or fancy labs, just the standard rooms with blackboards and posters on the walls. The staff members are mostly from around Kannur and they’ve been working here for years. It’s a very straightforward place to work and study. We spend our time going through the lessons and making sure the children are keeping up with their reading. Sometimes the goats from the nearby houses wander near the gate, which gives the kids something to laugh about. It isn't a prestigious institution, just a local school where we do our best with the resources we have. We are tucked away on Katampalli Road, and life here moves at its own steady pace. It’s a familiar part of the neighborhood for everyone living in Chirakkal.
