Eranjikulangra L P School

Our little primary school is located in Pookome, in the Peringalam area of Kannur. It’s been here for a long time, serving the families who live nearby. We teach the younger kids, the ones just starting out with their education. The building is a simple structure with a few classrooms and a small yard where the children play during their lunch hour. You won't find any high-tech equipment here. We rely on books, chalk, and the teachers who have been working in this community for years. Every morning, the sound of children's voices fills the air as they start their lessons. It’s a very local school, so we know most of the parents and even the grandparents of our students. We follow the regular curriculum but keep things very practical and straightforward. When it rains in Kannur, we all huddle inside, and the lessons continue despite the noise on the roof. It’s a quiet, unremarkable place in many ways, but it’s where the local kids get their start. We don't have big events or a lot of publicity. We just open the gates every day and do our best to teach the children how to read and write. It’s a job we’ve been doing for a while now, and we’re happy to be a part of this neighborhood in Pookome.
