Aided Lp School

Our school is located in Poonamgode, which is part of the Koovery area in Kannur. It’s a small Lower Primary school, so we only have the younger children here. The building is surrounded by a lot of greenery, which is typical for this part of Kannur. When it rains, you can hear it hitting the roof very loudly, and sometimes we have to speak up to be heard. The classrooms are simple with small benches for the kids. We have a small area outside where they play during their lunch break. Most of the children walk here from the surrounding houses in the village. It’s a very local feel because all the parents know the teachers. We spend a lot of time on basic reading and writing. The staff room is a bit small and always has tea cups and stacks of paper on the table. We don’t have a lot of modern technology, just the basics like charts on the walls and a few books. It’s a quiet place for most of the day, except for when the kids are outside. People in Koovery have been sending their kids here for a long time. It’s just a regular government-aided school doing its best in a rural area. We keep things simple and focus on the daily routine of teaching the little ones their first lessons. The bell rings at the same time every afternoon.
