Mambaram Up School

We are located on Chovvakuthuparamba Road, right in the Mambaram area of Kannur. It’s a busy little stretch of road. Mambaram Up School is where many of the local kids come after they finish their primary years. The building is tucked in there, and it’s been standing for a long time now. We have students coming in from different parts of the village every morning. It’s mostly just standard classrooms and a small area for them to run around. You can hear the classes going on if you walk past on the street. It isn't a high-tech facility with air conditioning or anything like that. We use chalk and boards and old wooden benches. The walls might need a bit of paint here and there, but the roof keeps the rain out, which is what matters during the monsoon. Our staff lives nearby too. We know the families and the shopkeepers down the road. It’s a tight community in 670741. Sometimes we have small events, but usually, it’s just the daily grind of teaching and learning. The road outside can get a bit dusty when the buses go by. We just get on with things. It’s a place for learning the standard subjects. Nothing more, nothing less. Most people in Mambaram have some connection to this place. We’ve been here through a lot of changes in the town.
