Malabar English School

You can find us over in Prakashapur, which is part of the Chakkarakkal area in Kannur. It’s a bit of a commute for some, but we’ve been at this spot for quite a while now. The school isn’t anything too special to look at from the outside, just a regular concrete building with a bunch of classrooms. We deal with the usual stuff like keeping the playground from getting too overgrown and making sure the roof doesn't leak when the monsoons hit. In this part of Mowancheri, everyone knows each other, so the school feels like a bit of a meeting point. We have kids from all kinds of backgrounds. Some come by bus, others walk from the nearby villages. We aren't trying to be the most modern place in the world. We just teach the lessons and make sure the kids know their English and their math. The staff room is always full of tea cups and half-corrected notebooks. It’s a busy environment but not in a corporate way. More like a big, slightly disorganized family. We don't have a website with fancy photos or a marketing department. We just have the address in Prakashapur and a lot of students who need to learn. Sometimes the kids get restless and we have to be a bit firm, but mostly they’re just regular kids. It’s a decent place to work and a decent place to learn.
