Ishaan Restaurant

Ishaan Restaurant is tucked inside Hotel Gandhis Paradise. If you are walking up Dharamkot Road in Dharamshala, you will find us right there near the TIPA entrance. Being in Mcleodganj means it stays pretty busy with travelers coming through all the time. Most people stop in because they are already staying at the hotel or they are just heading up towards the hills for a hike. We have been here for a while now, serving meals to whoever walks through the door. The weather around here changes fast, so sometimes the place is full of people hiding from the rain. It is a simple setup really. We just focus on getting the food out and making sure the kitchen stays running smoothly. You can see the road from here and watch the taxis go by. It gets a bit noisy during the peak season when everyone is visiting the monastery or the theater nearby, but that is just how life is on this side of town. We do not have anything fancy going on, just a regular kitchen and some tables for folks to sit at. Our staff knows the local area well if anyone needs directions to the hidden waterfalls or the shortcut down to the main square. It is just a local spot where you can grab a bite and take a break from the walking. We just keep the coffee hot and the tables clean for whoever stops by.
